Abstract
Creation of digital iamge and video libraries poses several interesting and challenging problems. New tools are needed for managing such as multimedia content. These include methods to search, retrieve, and manipulate digital media by using the media content information and mechanisms to protect intellectual property rights. This paper outlines some of the recent advances in image processing as related to digital libraries in the context of the UCSB Alexandria Digital Library project.
