Jelena Tešić is a research scientist @ Mayachitra Inc, Santa Barbara, CA. Her research focuses on scaling multimedia indexing, search and retrieval for lare video repositories. Prior to this, she spent 5 years at Intelligent Information Analysis Group, IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, Hawthorne, NY, working on developing systems for multimedia data management and its various applications; addressed selected research topics in the areas of scalable content information modeling, collaborative tagging of multimedia, and mining of content networks; and contributed to the to the top performance of the IBM team in 2004-2008 TRECVID, NIST-sponsored video benchmark.
Dr. Tešić received the Dipl. Ing. degree from the School of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, Serbia, in 1998, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1999 and 2004, respectively. Her graduate work includes topic in computer vision, image and video indexing, statistical modeling and pattern recognition applied to various medical, aerial, and space multimedia collections.
